Travel
Fly
The Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is the closest and best airport if you are flying in for our wedding. We recommend checking flights offered by Southwest Airlines because SMF is one of their hubs, and it can often be most economical. The drive from the airport to where we recommend you stay is about 30 minutes.
Driving up from Southern CA
The fastest route up to Sacramento from Southern CA is up I-5. The travel time between Sacramento and LA is roughly 6 hours.
Driving from Utah
The fastest route from Utah to Sacramento is I-80. The trip from SLC to Sacramento takes roughly 10 hours.
Stay
Where to stay in the Sacramento area?
The morning of our wedding day will be spent at the Sacramento Temple. Our ring ceremony and reception will be held at the Grey Barn in Newcastle, CA. We recommend staying near or in between both locations, on the Northeast side of the Sacramento area for your convenience (outlined in red below).
A few recommendations:
Hilton Garden Inn Roseville
This hotel sits slightly closer to the Grey Barn than the temple, making it a very convenient stay for the weekend.
Courtyard by Marriott Roseville
This hotel is located in a shopping and dining hub near the Galleria mall and is well located between the temple and the Grey Barn.
Comfort Inn & Suites Rocklin
This hotel is the most economical of our suggestions and is located perfectly between the temple and the Grey Barn.
Hampton Inn & Suites Folsom
This hotel is closest to the temple for Saturday morning, but about 40 minutes from the Grey Barn for the reception.
These are just a few suggestions, but prices will vary and you may find a great option elsewhere. There are quite a few hotels in the area to select from and you may even find better options on AirBnB or other lodging services!
